RECRUITING CASE STUDY: Global Marketing Manager (B2B / Asia Pacific focus)

Engagement: ‘Container’ Retained Search

A multi-billion dollar global medical technology corporation launched a startup business in a new market, and needed a strong US-based Marketing Manager to spearhead the program in the APAC region(s). With an assigned internal talent acquisition, the position had been open for nearly a year without hire prior to engaging 4SIGHT. Challenges were:

  • Lack of qualified candidates;
  • One previous offer declination after a long interview cycle;
  • Lack of viable candidates within the recruiter’s and hiring team’s professional network;

 Unique position requirements: 

  • 5+ years of B2B global marketing experience, ideally within Asia Pacific markets and within the medical technology sector;
  • Mandarin language fluency highly-preferred;
  • Ability to travel internationally at 40-50%;
  • MBA in Marketing with strong experience in multi-channel downstream marketing and seamless collaboration with R&D, Product Development and Engineering teams;
  • Appropriate employment authorization.

Result:

4SIGHT knew there are only a handful of qualified APAC marketing candidates in this metro area. Given the high-priority retainer engagement, we aggressively dove into market and reached our exact candidate targets and presented candidates within our 3-week commitment. Our lead candidate met all the qualifications, and saw value in the entrepreneurial opportunity to launch a new business under a larger corporate umbrella, and utilize their language and cultural knowledge.
